After an MSc in Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy in 2018 last year I made anatomyofpleasure.org to address the need for more information on the female body and sexuality. I worked with the Glasgow institute of health and wellbeing who were feeling the lack of sex-Ed resources that were both accurate and understandable. This has been particularly difficult when even gynaecology textbooks don’t holistically represent the clitoris, discuss pleasure and the mindbody connection.

- To address this I took a deep dive into the latest research on female sex anatomy and paired it with up to date sexology.
- I also created an accurate 3D model of this anatomy that you can interact with on the website.
- Information to address the increase in non-medical increase of labiaplasties in girls as young as 14 (NHS/BBC data)
- I found that the website improved people’s knowledge by 34% and I had a high engagement rate. 90% of people who took the first quiz returned to test their knowledge.
While anatomy knowledge doesn’t  automatically equate to sexual empowerment or pleasure, it does help to reduce shame around this anatomy and can be the first step or permission to self exploration.
- I found that quizzes and the interactive 3D model was a fun way to engage people and spread the message. It’s no secret that people learn when they are relaxed and through play.
